Digital Crochet vs GlossGenius

Both sides, from GlossGenius’s own pricing page and ours. Including the parts where they win.

$49 to $349 a month · no per-staff fees · cancel any month

Straight answer first

What GlossGenius is good at.

GlossGenius makes the same promise we do — one price, no per-staff fee — and for a team under ten it makes it at half our price. The product is the best-looking one in this comparison, the booking site it builds is genuinely good, and a flat 2.6% with no extra charge for Tap to Pay, card-on-file or manual entry is simpler than the three- and four-rate tables everyone else publishes.

If that describes you — a small team that wants one flat bill and a booking site that looks expensive — buy theirs. The rest of this page is for the owner it does not describe.

GlossGenius prices are the monthly rate; paying annually is $48 and $148. Staff management starts on Gold, which its page scopes to teams of less than ten, with Platinum for teams of ten or more. Each additional location is charged the plan price at a 15% discount.

Our column quotes the plan that size of business would buy: Starter at three, Growth from five up. Every plan has unlimited staff — the staff count does not force the plan. Starter has no packages or memberships; if you sell those it is Growth at $129 at every size, and GlossGenius includes them at the prices above. Figures checked 17 September 2026. Competitors change their pricing; tell us if you spot a stale number.

Read this part twice

Where GlossGenius beats us.

At five staff GlossGenius is $56 against our $129 — less than half — and they charge no per-staff fee either. That is our own argument, made better and cheaper. A five-person salon choosing on subscription alone should choose GlossGenius, and we would rather say so here than have you find out later.

They also transfer your data in for free. Ours is not built. Coming

Two things move at ten staff: their price steps to $168 while ours stays at $129, and the flat 2.6% keeps applying to every card sale you take, which we do not charge because we do not process your payments. Pick a card volume — on $40,000 a month, purely as an example, that 2.6% is $1,040, larger than any subscription figure on this page. Whether it outweighs a subscription difference is arithmetic only you can do, with your own volume.

Switching from GlossGenius

What the move actually looks like.

Nobody in this market publishes this. Here is ours, including the part that is not built.

Day 1 — you keep taking bookings

Your GlossGenius account stays open and stays the system of record. We set up your services, your hours, your staff and your New York tax rate, and you carry on as normal. Nothing switches today.

Day 3 — your clients come across Coming

Automatic client import is not built yet. Coming When it is, it will be free, and this is the day it runs. Until then we agree a date and move your list by hand, and we will tell you honestly how long yours will take before you sign anything.

Day 7 — you stop paying two bills

You work a full week on ours with GlossGenius still open behind you. If the week goes badly you have lost nothing. If it goes well, you cancel GlossGenius — month to month, so there is nothing to buy your way out of — and the second bill stops.

Your clients keep their history, their notes and their appointments. We never list them anywhere, never contact them on our own behalf, and never charge you for one of them booking with you.

Straight answers

The questions people actually ask.

Is Digital Crochet cheaper than GlossGenius?

Not at every size, and the table above says exactly where. Not at five staff — GlossGenius is $56 against our $129. At three, ten and fifteen we are cheaper, and we take no percentage of your card sales where they take a flat 2.6%.

What does “no per-staff fees” actually mean?

Hire a fifth stylist, a tenth, a fifteenth — the bill does not move. $49, $129 or $349 a month depending on the plan, whoever is on the floor.

Do you take a percentage of my card payments?

No, because we do not process them. You keep your own processor and your own rate, and we take nothing. That also means we cannot fix a bad rate for you — we are simply not in that transaction.

Can you import my client list from GlossGenius?

Not automatically yet. Client import is not built. Coming When it ships it is free. Today we agree a date and move the list by hand, and we tell you how long yours will take before you commit to anything.

What is not built yet?

The AI voice agent, online booking pages, SMS reminders and win-backs, the AI assistant, client import, and payment processing of any kind. Every one of those carries a Coming badge everywhere it appears on this site, including on this page.

Am I locked in?

No. Month to month, cancel any month. There is no contract to buy your way out of and no cancellation fee.

See it before you pay for it.

Call or send the form. We’ll show you the app, answer the awkward questions, and you decide after that. Month to month, cancel any time.
